About

Chef Lars will teach you cooking and baking tips and techniques so you can wow your guests at your next dinner party!

At each class, you will receive a custom handout with helpful information on the particular topic. At the end of most classes, you will get to enjoy the finished product!

Our upcoming schedule of classes is listed below.

 

Class Basics

  • Please note that classes at the Co-op are usually larger in size and classes at Lars’ Kitchen are a bit more in-depth.
  • Pre-registration is required at least 24 hours in advance of class.
  • Classes will vary in time (usually 1.5 to 2.5 hours) depending on the focus.
  • Many classes are hands-on and some are demonstrations.

  • We are committed to everyone’s health and safety.
  • For now, class size is a maximum of 8 people at the Co-op and 4 at Lars’ Kitchen.
  • We provide drinking water but feel free to bring your own beverage.
  • Classes take place at either Lars’ Kitchen in Bayfield or the Chequamegon Food Co-op in Ashland.

Bagels

Make great bagels from scratch. You’ll mix your dough, knead it by hand, shape it into rings, then boil and bake your bagels to get just the right texture. Tickets can be purchased below.

5 pm at the Chequamegon Food Co-op Cost: $20/$15 owners DEMO: Lars will walk you through how to make beautifully crafted sushi rolls! It’s not as intimidating as it may look. Plus sushi is a great way to practice your knife skills.

Falafel

Falafel is a deep-fried ball or patty-shaped fritter of Arab origin, featuring in Middle Eastern cuisine made from broad beans, ground chickpeas, or both.
